Rivalry remains strong Source: Steelers.com - Cornerback Deshea Townsend has played in his share of Steelers-Browns games and it doesn’t matter to him if the Steelers have won the last nine games or 15 out of the last 16, he knows the rivalry is just as strong today as it ever has been and it’s going to be a battle on Sunday night in Cleveland. “The people and fans really get into it,” said Townsend. “It’s tough to go out and let your fans down. You want to make sure you win that game. “It has been picking up as of late because Cleveland has improved so much and it’s been a tougher game.” Townsend expects nothing less than the Browns fans to be fired up on Sunday night and he knows that will help motivate the Browns players. But it also will motivate the Steelers. He loves the atmosphere in Cleveland, right down to the ‘dawg pound’ where the fans are right on top of the field. |
 | Steelers-Browns Match-Ups Source: Steelers.com - STEELERS CBs IKE TAYLOR AND DESHEA TOWNSEND VS. BROWNS WR BRAYLON EDWARDS: The credentials Edwards brings are inarguable, but he becomes even more valuable to the Browns and a more critical target for the Steelers defense because of what injuries have done to the position... | STEELERS C JUSTIN HARTWIG VS. BROWNS NT SHAUN ROGERS: At the time it was considered to be a trade that was going to help the Browns immensely, but it also was the beginning of their problems in the secondary...STEELERS LT MARVEL SMITH VS. BROWNS ROLB KAMERION WIMBLEY: After setting a franchise rookie record with 11 sacks in 2006, Wimbley’s production fell off last season when he dropped the quarterback only five times, with two of those coming in the season’s third game. With injuries having ravaged the Browns secondary, being able to mount a pass rush without blitzing becomes even more critical.
